Yolocaust
Another series that is based in Berlin and addresses a very hot topic. The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe is one of the most photographed motives of Berlin, which is pretty surprising for a political memorial. Although it has a very serious background it also attracts people that aren’t aware about the meaning of this installation or simply value their own selfie higher than the historic background.
Shahak Shapira is a jewish political author and not a photographer at first. Nonetheless his confrontation with the past had a huge impact and will hopefully change the behaviour of visitors at this memorial.
